WELCOME TO BIBLESPONSORS

Biblesponsor is a network of Christians whose aim is to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through the distribution of free Bibles to millions of Christians across Africa who cannot afford one. The main target groups are the rural poor and students.

This network has been in existence since 2005 and is driven by the recognition that God’s people need Bibles to be able to study and meditate on the word. The intuition behind this organization has been as a result of how Bibles have been expensive in recent times and rapidly getting out of reach of thousands of new converts, especially in rural Africa. As of 2005, the average cost for a basic Bible was $5. Yet about half of Africans live on less than $1 a day. The pioneers of this network recognize that the cost of a Bible is therefore too much for the rural folks and the young ones still in school to afford. ‘How can they grow without feeding on the sincere milk of the WORD’? (1 Peter 2:2).

Biblesponsors in this network are therefore committed to place a Bible in the hands of many who genuinely cannot afford one.

Over the years, we have been able to sponsor a number of Bibles through existing outreach programmes and Ministries.

Beneficiaries of our sponsorship include rural evangelists, school children, local pastors in poor communities and outreach groups.

At the moment, we have an arrangement with Challenge Bookshop (Accra, Ghana) where we maintain a stock of Bibles for distribution to various beneficiaries in Ghana. As the network grows, we encourage partners in other countries to meet the needs of new converts in their respective countries as well.

We must strive to put a Bible in every home and in the hands of every literate Christian child in Africa. Anyone (be it an individual, a Ministry or an organization) who “buys” into this vision and prayerfully considers joining us is very welcome. Network partners can commit to annual sponsorship as follows:

• Level 1: 25 Bibles a year
• Level 2: 50 Bibles a year
• Level 3: 100 Bibles a year
• Free Level: Indicate your own number of Bibles which may be below or above the levels.
